If you are worried about maintaining mortage repayments then help is available.
You must keep up communication with Bank or Building Society. These financial institutions have agreed with the Government that repossession is the last resort.
The Government has put in place a Mortgage Rescue Scheme.

If you receive Benefits such as Job Seekers Allowance and your mortgage is less than £200,000 you maybe able to get help to pay mortage interest.

If you lose your job or suffer a drop in wages, you may be able to get help from the Home Owner Mortage Support Scheme. This scheme has been created to assist vulnerable families, those with children, disabled or elderly.

The Scheme can be operated by registered social landlord providing equity loan which will reduce mortage repayments. Rent will then be paid to social landlord.Alternatively, there is the Government Mortage to Rent Scheme where either a social landlord or local authority pays off the mortage and you pay rent.
