New Budget Good News for First Time Buyers

The budget has meant good news for First Time Buyers as properties upto £250000 are exempt from the 1% Stamp Duty

However to qualify as a first time buyer you must;

1. Not have any interest in any property either in the UK or abroad.
2. Must not have inherited any property; so even if you have not bought a house but inherited an interest in one, you do not qualify
3. If you are buying jointly with someone both of you must be first time buyers.
4. If you have previously purchased under shared ownership you do not qualify.

The Practice would like to find an energetic ambitious criminal solicitor to expand our existing base.The Candidate must be a willing Team Player and have experience of Police Stations,Magistrates Court and Crown Court preparation and have a following or willing to build a following and ideally be a duty solicitor. Higher Rights preferred but not essential.

We have an internet based accounts and case management system allowing flexibility to work from the office or from home. Must be computer literate. Partnership prospects exist.

Home Information Packs (HIPS) have now become part of the scene for buying and selling property. Sellers are now required to provide a local search, water authority search and property information forms, including where a lease is being sold, full information about the freeholder, rent and service charge accounts and insurance. This has increased costs for sellers but has generally made it easier for buyers.

Police Station advice resulting in detainees release

Our firm every week attends Police stations to represent arrested clients.
Our client who is mentally unwell was detained by police and then after hours  was released and no charges brought against him.

Police attended at our client parents home. They demanded entry and had no right to enter.
Our clients father and brother were assaulted. The Police arrested our client alleging that he had assaulted three police officers in the execution of their duties.

Serious Crime - Prosecution throws in the towel

Our firm regularly represents defendants in Serious Crime cases. We have in the past year been representing a defendant in a gun running and supply of ammunition case in the local Crown Court. The Prosecution placed probes in his flat and listened to his everyday conversations for months.
