Serious Crime - Prosecution throws in the towel
Our firm regularly represents defendants in Serious Crime cases. We have in the past year been representing a defendant in a gun running and supply of ammunition case in the local Crown Court. The Prosecution placed probes in his flat and listened to his everyday conversations for months.
Our client protested his innocence from the outset. We conducted two trials. The first trial resulted in a Hung Jury but the Prosecution wanted a retrial. At the retrial the Prosecution changed their line of attack. They no longer accused our client of being involved in the manufacture of guns but declared that he had sourced the gun.
We employed two Counsel John Hurlock and Charles Langley both of 2 Bedford Row who marshalled the evidence and with our assistance produced a large amount of defence evidence including DVD's,photographs and our client was called to give evidence.
The second jury could not agree. The Prosecution then threw in the towel and offered no evidence.
