Police Station advice resulting in detainees release
Our firm every week attends Police stations to represent arrested clients.
Our client who is mentally unwell was detained by police and then after hours was released and no charges brought against him.
Police attended at our client parents home. They demanded entry and had no right to enter.
Our clients father and brother were assaulted. The Police arrested our client alleging that he had assaulted three police officers in the execution of their duties.
It was our advice that the police had exceeded their powers. Our client was questioned and the police still maintained that our client had assaulted three police officers. It was clear that the police had very little injury if at all. The papers were submitted to the CPS and after their review our client was released without charge and no further action was contemplated.
Our client and his family are considering in association with our firm whether they can take civil action against the police .
